First topic message reminder :

The American 2008 Presidential Campaigns

0. Quick Warnings
On a personal note, I have spent way too much time preparing this topic that I will not allow anything to go wrong. If you wish to loud mouth, please know that an equivalent Bash Topic already exists.
This information is as relevant as possible on the date of creation. By this I mean to enhance the fact that the world moves on, and not necessarily what is already written. So I ask you please forgive me if some details change as the campaigns advance.
When it comes to voting, all of America will not be voting for the same person. That in mind, we wish to remind you that you will most probably see people expressing views which are not yours, and which may even contradict you. This is not an attack and we are all allowed to have our different opinions

I. Introduction
After 8 years in the White House, President George W. Bush will be leaving in early 2009, when his mandate expires. To replace him as President of the United States of America are many candidates who have been elected, for the most, by their representing parties. After all the votes are cast in, Inauguration Day is planned for the 20th of January 2009, where the new President will start his/her Terms in Office and will swear his/her Presidential Oaths.

II. The Candidates
There are many candidates to the White House, contrary to what most believe. Indeed, each party nominates their running candidate after inwards elections. However, some also choose to run independently of any political party. As such they must register formally at with the proper authorities. Each candidate has their own political agenda, and therefore to simplify the reading, I've chosen to list the ones with the highest expected vote share with links to their personal campaign sites as well as photos (when found).

Barrack Obama - Democrat

John McCain - Republican

Charles Jay - Boston Tea Party

Chuck Baldwin - Constitution Party

Cynthia McKinney - Green Party

Bob Barr - Libertarian Party

Gene Amondson - Prohibition Party

Ted Weill - Reform Party

Gloria La Riva - Party for Socialism and Liberation

Brian Moore - Socialist Party

Róger Calero - Socialist Workers Party

Ralph Nader - Independent

III. Where you come in
What do you think the new president must have as qualities? Must he/she make a break from the past? Are there important reforms to be done? What about important subjects such as the War against Terror, the Health Care System or even the Education?
What are your views, and who do you think should be voted into the White House?

Well, seen as I live in France and this is happening in America, I guess that's inevitable

I don't really blame the candidates for not talking about it too much because they both know they'd gain and loose votes as soon as they raise the discussion.
Some people want the illgeal, cheap working, aliens (as you call them). Others think that the country's big enough for all. In my opinion, the first should be shot, the second should be educated...

We also have a problem over here about illegal immigrants. Mr Sarkozy lost many votes when he firmly announced he'd put alot of effort into reducing their numbers big time.
In the end, that's indirectly why I voted for him; He stood up to the critics holding his goals sound and clear

There is no willpower in Washington DC to do anything about it. The Democrats see them as a future voter base and the Republicans see them as more cheap labor for their rich friends. I see it as something that may lead to the downfall of the United States as I have known it.

I'm not sure who I am voting but I am leaning towards Obama.

You left out an issue that is on the minds of many Americans but the Candidates are not really discussing. Illegal aliens.

To follow up on your first statement, Well.....It is not in the mainstream media right now so who cares......

Free Health care??? Yeah right....Any one of those Illegals can waltz right into a hospital and get free health care right now. Federal law provides for it.

Though I'm Republican, I for one is going to vote for Bob Barr. I don't like Obama or McCain. It's like picking the best of two evils. Which one will work for you. IMO, neither will.

Dude, you need to post in big characters? U_U

P.S: Voting for those who get less than 1% isn't exactly contributing to improvement
