Religions Debate

0. Quick Warnings
We ask you keep an open mind in this section. There are numerous beliefs out there, and many more opinions. There have been many religious wars in the human history, an aberrant reality that views can't be expressed freely. Therefore, we will have a 0 tolerance, and all aggressive/offensive posts will be heavily sanctioned.
Also, "sects" will be considered as religions. We are not here to polemic on whether or not they are legible; there's many governmental courts who do this.

I. Introduction
Religion is one of man's oldest institutions. Religions vary from wide spread with spiritual leaders to individuals with convictions. Religion has been the inspiration that built Cathedrals, started nations, if not empires. However, religion has also been the basis of many wars.

II. Recent Evolutions
Religion, in its bases, is supposed to be for the people. To give them strength, to provide answers, to help through difficult times. People had recently "given up faith", mainly to the profits of Science. But recently, people seem to have opened themselves evermore to religions and spirituality.

III. Where You Come In
What are your views on religion? Do you believe? Do you make a distinction between Faith and Religion?
Please share your thoughts

I don't believe in any type of organized religion. The institutions and people that run those institutions twist the meaning to increase their own power. However I do believe in an afterlife. I've lived in enough haunted houses to know that death is definitely not the end.

It's kind of a waste of time to pray to an invisible man that never bothers to return messages.

How do you know he never returns the message?

It's like the joke of the man drowning in the Ocean.
The Coast Guards come to save him, they find him praying: God will save me, and he refuses their help.
A ship passes by, by chance, he's still praying God to save him, and refuses their help to.
A dolphin swims up to him, yet still he refuses: God WILL save me.
- He drowns
Up in paradise, he goes to meet God. "I've been a faithful husband and a dedicated Christian, why didn't you save me?" and God returns with another question: "You mean when I sent the Coast Guards, the ship or the dolphin?"

I'd like to hear from the man directly.
