The Realm Debate Section: Rules
Welcome to the debate section. Before we get into the heat of things and the rules, a small introduction of this section seems appropriate
I. IntroductionThis section, as it's name suggests, is for debates of all sorts. Any topic where one's opinions will be solicited are to be posted here. This section has aim to allow members to express themselves calmly an to share their thoughts, views and opinions. Likewise, members are also invited to read other's opinions and who knows, maybe agree or not
II. RulesThese have been established to forewarn every member: These
will be respected or else sanctions will fall.
A. Who can moderate? This section is under the direction of
TheodorOther Super Moderators and Moderators can also moderate if they deem necessary.
B. General RulesIt goes without saying that the
General Rules apply here
C. SecuritiesDebate sections on forums often rime with "heated open flamewars". For this reason, all comments against another member will be removed and the member will be sanctioned. Depending on the comment, the sanction will be more or less important.
Also, to avoid too many topics on a given subject, there are what are called [Only-Topics]. These topics have the tag in their title. They serve as a big thread where all posts concerning it can be posted. If a thread is created and deals with something that already has an Only-Topic, it will be garbaged.
You may come across [Bash] topics. In these topics, the rules are much less strict, and messages can be more borderline. If you're not up to it, avoid it, especially seen as that there will most probably a "normal" version of the topic. These threads are only here so as those who express themselves in these ways can do so.
D. A few last wordsTo finish, here are some points which, we stress, will help to keep the debates interesting and calm:
> Read others' posts, not necessarily all
> Tend care to your wording, misunderstandings happen so quickly
> Do not force your opinion on others; only I am always right
> Having a different view from you doesn't mean being against you
> Develop the points you give, 3 or 4 words isn't an opinion, it's a repetition
> This isn't a contest, there's no winner and no looser
And finally;
If a member provokes you,
don't answer back. We'll take care of that member in due time. It would be a pity, if not stupid, to be banned because of someone else (for example)
