Hey, Hotdogs, are you living anywhere near the current bushfires?

It's such a tragic turn of events. I do hope they get it all under control soon.

I suppose you could say I do live very near them. The closest fires would probably be about half an hour from where I live. Its not all that likely that something will happen to our house, but, I am prepared. Some of the footage of the fires are really quite disturbing.

We've sent Police Officers over and FireFighters are on the way!!

(We only did it because we expect Aussie to do the same for us when we are in crisis)

Doesn't New Zealand have more of a temperate climate, though, so wouldn't experience those fires to the same degree?

It doesn't get as hot here as it does in Australia, but it does get hot enough to have bushfires. Plus New Zealand's weather is really whack. One moment it can be sticky hot, the next it's raining like it's never rained before.
