| Not really. I still think that Windows is the best operating system in the world. At least at this moment. | |

| I have Vista on my machine and nothing but troubles with it ever since. I had to reinstall it a couple of times because it became unstable. It won't let you install most of the older programs that you like from earlier Windows versions. And I hate that user account permissions dialog that pops up telling you that you need permission to run this or that. IMO, Vista is nothing but trash. XP IMO, is the best OS they put out so far. | |

| I've got Vista Home Premium on the new laptop, but I've given that to my son. He'll be starting his GCSEs next year.
My PC is still on XP. | |

| I think most laptops have Vista on it. That's what's keeping me from getting a laptop. I keep hearing from some peeps it's no where near as good as XP. Which is what i use now. I'm not willing to give up on my XP for a Vista headache so to speak just yet. | |

| what's wrong with Vista? its an OSX copycat full of Bugs...
Now offens to Windows Lovers coz I;m a fan of the PC myself, but VIsta is just a bit overkill coz it not only forces you to upgrade your computer in a very insane level (were talking the whole package, not just the video card and stuffs...). It also has incompatibility issues regarding drivers from your old hardware.. (still using your old beloved ALS soundcard? say bye bye when you switch to Vista...). And IMHO, it's just pure eyecandy...
In all fairness, Vista is a SECURE operating system. It's stability is in par with XP professional and maybe even more; but with whole lotta bugs in it...
I think Vista still needs time to mature as an OS; I mean this hapened to XP last 2002 when it first came out and people were actually comparing it to Windows 98 SE. By now, Vista still sux but give it a few more tweaks (or better yet, a whole new service pack...), and it will also come out as a stable and reliable system...

| Ditto there Colicah!!
I was just about to order my new computer a couple months ago, and I was purposely NOT going to have Vista added to it. It still needs more time. At least a year. Usually it's the general rule that you shouldn't even consider getting the newest OS until it is at least 2 years old. It takes that long to even begin to work out most of it's major kinks.
I was going to order the XP English version instead. As I have the Swedish version here and it is a nightmare for me to work my way around this computer, when I don't know enough of Swedish. I have to go on memory and visualization.
BUT my computer will be Vista ready when I build it. Because eventually I will have to make the move over to Vista, just not now.
Hopefully by the time I have the money again for my new computer build, someone who has the full version Vista (not an upgrade OS), will send me their old English version of XP that is collecting dust, and then I will go ahead and order the Vista and just not use it until I feel their updates are sufficiant enough. lol
